1. On the phone with my mom (aka Oma), who lives in Southern California.
Oma: It's freezing here today! I'm wearing my Ugg boots and jeans and... what do you call that soft material?
Me: Fleece?
Oma: Yes, a fleece sweater... it's SO cold!
Me: What is it, like, 50? I bet it's the same temperature it is here, it's like 50 or 55, and I'm in flip flops and a T-shirt.
Oma: Ok, now I have to go see what it is. (Walks to the backyard to check the thermometer.) Well...(sheepishly) it's 60! But it feels so cold!

2. With my toddler, in the car.
Her: Blah, blah, blah*, Thomas...blah, blah, blah, George...blah, blah, blah, Texas...blah, blah, blah, Sister...blah, blah, blah... WHAT NUMBER IS THAT BUS?!!!??!!
Me: 441.
Her: IT ISN'T!!! WHERE IS IT GOING?!!!?!
*she wasn't actually saying "blah, blah, blah" just a constant stream of mostly incomprehensible toddler chatter
Moral of the story: Crazy is a genetically inherited trait.
